She was predeceased by: her husband Ben Mayo; and her parents, Henriette Bernardy and Louis Bernardy. She is survived by: her brother-in-law Ray Mayo of Santa Rosa, CA; her stepchildren, Karrie Weston of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA and Kevin McBride; and her siblings, Dan Bernardy of York, PA, Joyce Bernardy (Tom Larkin) of Coralville, IA, Jayne Bernardy of Northfield, MN and Lu Anne Amundson (Ted Amundson) of Hastings, MN. She is also survived by eighteen nieces and nephews she loved dearly; and many friends.

A Mass will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Saint Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church (1435 E Eagle Rd, Waterloo, IA 50701). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at the St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Eagle Center (1435 E Eagle Rd, Waterloo, IA 50701).
