He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Leon Peterson and Jeanette Rae Peterson (Berberich); his niece Lauren Peterson; and his brother-in-law Randy Finseth. He is survived by: his wife Letty; his children, Alex Peterson (Marikia) and Marin Peterson (Josh Bruemmer); his grandson Jaxon; his siblings, Doug Peterson (Janeen), Jamie Peterson (Wendy), Michael Peterson, Tracy Finseth and Troy Peterson; his parents-in-law, Jerry and Cheryl Sistad; his brother Mark; his sister-in-law Terri Buratczuk; his nieces and nephews, Derek Peterson (Sydnie Gunderson), Leah Peterson, Luke Peterson, Michelle Sundquist, Erin Sundquist, MaKayla Peterson, Natalie Buratczuk and Jack Buratczuk; and his aunt Anita Capp. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He always wanted to help people and his final gift was through organ donation.
