Bob Goblirsch Obituary

Robert Leo "Bob" Goblirsch, of Olivia, MN died at the age of 89, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Olivia Hospital. All services will be private and held at a later date. Burial will take place in the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Olivia. Arrangements are by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia.

Bob was born on February 21, 1936, on the family farm near Bechyn, in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota, to Leo Michael and Alvina Amy (Ahrens) Goblirsch. He attended District #27 Country School, and graduated from Danube High School in 1954. Bob served with the Minnesota Army National Guard for six years.

Bob married Donna Pearl Christenson on July 25, 1970. After their wedding, they lived in Willmar. In 1986, he and Donna moved to New London and ten years later, Donna died from leukemia. In 2013, Bob moved to Olivia to live closer to his family.

Bob worked in sales during most of his life and enjoyed going to auctions. He loved old time music. His mom always said, "if I want to see my oldest son, I turn on the TV and watch him dance.". He attended Polka Fests and taught an endless number of ladies how to dance the polka. Bob spent most of his time tinkering in his garage and watching reruns of his favorite TV shows, NCIS and Judge Judy.

Bob is survived by his siblings: Ruthy Sturgill of Alexandria, VA, Richard "Dick" (Kathy) Goblirsch of Deerwood, MN, Darlene (Jerry) Woods of Canada, and Daryl (Linda) Goblirsch of Olivia. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Alvina; wife, Donna; brother, Gary Goblirsch; an infant brother; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Paulson Goblirsch, Sandra Palmer Goblirsch, and Sandra Lothert Goblirsch; and brother-in-law, Art Sturgill.
