He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McGrath and Carol McGrath. He is survived by: his wife Kristi; his sons, Daniel (Lisa) and Bryan; his stepchildren, Jacob Foley (Katelyn) and Rebecca Nistler (Nick); his granddaughter Hailey; his stepgrandchildren, Braxton, Nolan, Nova, Bridget and Briella; and his siblings, Jeff (Deborah), Lynn Tierney (Tom), Christine Walsh (Dean Townsend), Greg (Diem) and Patrick (Vicky). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel (3075 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN 55033). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel (3075 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN 55033). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Calendar St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery (3070 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN 55033). A reception was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 2:00 PM at the Calendar Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel (3075 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN 55033).
