He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Swigerd and Elsie Swigerd (Wedemeyer); his in-laws, Harley and Florence Kruse; his brothers, Jack and Bob; and his son Richard Michael.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Kruse; his daughters, Kim Juarez (George), Roxy Hames (David) of Blaine, MN and Rose Aesoph (Jason) of Sioux Falls, SD; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, Amber, Megan, Alex, Jordan, Jamie, Shawna and Marissa. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
