Linda Sue Hoff Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Linda Sue Hoff (McClain), 65, of Oslo, Minnesota, announces her peaceful passing on April 16, 2026, at home under the care of HIA Hospice, surrounded by her family.
Linda was born on October 27, 1960, in Franklin, Indiana. She spent her early years there and attended Whiteland Community High School, graduating in 1979. Her first marriage to Mathew Parkhurst brought her to Hawaii through his service in the United States Air Force. During this time, they welcomed her first son, Wesley. From Hawaii, they later relocated to Grand Forks, North Dakota.
In 1998, Linda married Ron Hoff, and together they made their home outside of Oslo, Minnesota, where they welcomed their two children, Amanda and Austin.
After settling in the upper Midwest, Linda began her 26-year career at Walmart, where she worked until her retirement in 2018. She took great pride in her work and was known for her warm smile and friendly nature.
Linda found joy in tending to her flowers at home, but her greatest pride and happiness came from her children and grandchildren. She loved attending their activities and celebrating every milestone in their lives.
Those closest to Linda describe her as free-spirited, with a mischievous sense of humor. She was stubborn, beautiful, kind, and full of life, someone who truly lived on her own terms.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ron Hoff; her children, Wes (Ashley) Parkhurst, and Austin Hoff; her grandchildren, Camden, Jaida, Deegan, Haven Parkhurst, and Mavryck Hoff; her mother-in-law, Geri Hoff; sisters-in-law Rhonda (Jim) Tucker and Val (Rick) Walker; brother-in-law Lionel (Sharla) Hoff; nephews Dillon (Aimee) Hoff and Ryan (Carly) Walker; her beloved four-legged companion, Bentley; her soul sisters Lynne Olson and Doris Fortman; along with many other relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Hoff; her mother, Flo McClain; her father, Bill McClain; and her father-in-law, Loren Hoff.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to all who supported Linda throughout her illness, including family, friends, and the staff at Altru Cancer Center, especially Dr. Dentchev, for their compassionate care.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721. Service will be live-streamed on Linda's page at http://www.dandahlfuneralhome.com.
VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Linda's name to Altru Cancer Center and HIA Hospice in honor of the exceptional care she received during her seven-year battle.
INURNMENT: She will be laid to rest with her beloved daughter Amanda at Oak Park Cemetery in Oslo at a later date.
