He was predeceased by: his parents, George Rethemeier and Mabel Rethemeier (Visness); his siblings, Joyce Olson, Ernest Rethemeier and Arnold Rethemeier; his brothers-in-law, Wayne Olson and John Elstad; and his granddaughter Cristin Pfannenstiel.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Marty (Deb), Eric (Julie) and Andrew; his grandchildren, Nick Rethemeier, Meghan Shevich (Cody), Victoria Genelin (Sam), Kelly Ortiz (Tony), Logan McGaheran and Cody McGaheran; and his great grandchildren, Theodore, Howard, Landen, Zenovia and Zendaya.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Owatonna United Methodist Church (815 E Univ St, Owatonna, MN 55060). A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign in Owatonna or Owatonna United Methodist Church.
