We are sad to announce that on July 29, 2025, at the age of 91, James L. Grunwald of Owatonna, Minnesota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Grunwald and Pearl Grunwald (Thompson); his wife Helen Grunwald; his siblings, Laurel Grunwald and Maxine Anderson; and his brother-in-law John "Jack" Wilkenson.

He is survived by: his children, Susan Fritz (Robert) of Waseca, Brian Grunwald (Julie) of Waseca and Michael Grunwald (Shirlyn Lee) of Edina; his grandchildren, Lindsey Fritz (Jason Esse), Carley Gleason (Eric), Jayson Fritz, Adam Grunwald (Jessica) and Chad Grunwald (Jessica Royer); and his great grandchildren, Fynlee, Crosby, Vienna, Scarlett, Sullivan, Caden, Paxton, Hudson, Kayson, Ashton and Oaklyn.

Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church of Owatonna, or to the donor's choice.
