He is survived by: his girlfriend Jeanne Busse; his siblings, Richard O'Malley (Giselle), Teresa "Terry" Olson (Bruce), Dawn Mickelson, Brittany Lenway and Tyler Drake (Anna); and his nieces and nephews, Mayson and Maddox Drake.

Because of John's love for animals, memorial donations may be directed to the Steele County Humane Society, Owatonna.
