He was predeceased by : his parents, Orin Bakken and Betty Bakken (Long); his brother David Bakken; and his stepfather Victor Bolsted. He is survived by : his son Will Bakken of Owatonna; his siblings, Randy Bakken of Stewartville, Jo Stevens of Aurora, CO, Nancy Bakken of Rochester, Robin Vrieze of Racine and Carol Bakken of Colorado; and his stepsister Patti Jo Truelson.

A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Michaelson Funeral Home - Owatonna (1930 Austin Rd, Owatonna, MN 55060).
