He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Ruden and Delores Von Ruden (Mertinke); his brother Greg Von Ruden; and his sister-in-law Terri Grose. He is survived by: his wife Diane (Grose) of Owatonna; his children, Kimberly Grinnen (Chuck Bly) of Hartland, Jeff Von Ruden of Owatonna and Ashley Von Ruden of Owatonna; his grandchildren, Emily Grinnen, Katelyn Grinnen, Meghan Karge, Holden Kos, Hunter Posey and Hailey Bly; his siblings, Dennis Von Ruden (Julie), Nancy Glentz (Joe), Phil Von Ruden, Nik Von Ruden, Vince Von Ruden (Suzanne), Teresa Brady (Marty), Chris Von Ruden (Sandy) and Ted Von Ruden; and his pet Dixie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Michaelson Michaelson Funeral Home (1930 Austin Rd, Owatonna, MN 55060). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
