He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Solum and Ardine Solum (Jahnke); his siblings, Gary Solum and Diane Heine; his daughter-in-law Tracie Solum; and his sister-in-law VeeAnn Solum.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Solum; his children, Traci Solum, Todd Solum (Kristy) and Tim Solum (Tammy); his stepchildren, Jennifer Kukuczka (Marty), Jason Buck (Maria) and Julie Brass (Brent); his grandchildren, Stephanie, Anthony, Tayler, Benjamin, Marissa, Afton and Brooke; his stepgrandchildren, Jordan, Samuel, Liam and Madilyn; and his siblings, Mary Frisbie, David Solum and Judy Oelerking. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred to the Steele County Humane Society, or Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Owatonna.
