He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Carothers and Adeline Carothers; and his sister Judy Peters. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Barb Schwab (Jack), Dave Carothers (Sarah) and Lynne Carothers; his grandchildren, Derek Schwab (Andrea), Michael Schwab, Kalley Katzung (Jake), Joe Carothers and Allisen Carothers; his great grandchildren, Vincent and Nora; and his brother Jim Carothers (Linda).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 8:15 AM and at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (609 Lincoln Ave S, Owatonna, MN 55060).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, Austin Athletic Hall of Fame, or Young Life of Owatonna.
