It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alvina Van Roekel (Park Rapids, Minnesota), born in Hospers, Iowa, who passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Allen Van Roekel; her parents, John Baker and Martha Baker; her parents-in-law, Albert and Marie Van Roekel; and her siblings, Josephine Kinney (Ivy), Donald Baker (Jo), Harold Baker and Marcella Kroese (Baker).

She is survived by : her children, Mark (Deb) of Waterloo, IA, Kent (Julia) of Park Rapids, MN, Ryan (Annette) of Minneapolis, MN, Brad (Lisa) of Taft, CA and Shawna Peters of Eagan, MN.; her grandchildren, Zachary (Laura), Alexander (Jessica), Rachel Brandt (Joe), Andrew, Matthew, Nicholas, James, Laura, Madison, Jackson (Morgan), John, Reece and Colby; her great grandchildren, Aleah, Alexa, Alayna, Benjamin, Jacob and Haley; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Kooiker (Glenn) and Joyce Baker. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Riverside United Methodist Church (1005 Park Ave N, Park Rapids, MN 56470). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
