The memory of Edward DeLaHunt of Park Rapids, Minnesota, who passed away on October 25, 2025 at the age of 87, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hunt and Mary De La Hunt; his in-laws, Eugene and Lucille Granse; his sisters, Pat Gerstner and Gerry Ginther; his brothers-in-law, Bill Gerstner, George Plante and Jim Basta; his uncle Furey; and his son-in-law John Schumacher.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Cindy Jacobson (Richard), Bernie Schumacher, Julie Wilson (Brad), Gene Kanten (Jim), Edward De La (Tammy), David De La (Joleen), Matt De La (Angie) and Richard De La (LeeAnne); his siblings, Rosie Basta, Annette Fitzpatrick (Mike), Ruth Mulcahy (Mike), Jim De La (Margie), Denny Ginther and Gordy Granse (Yivie); and his sister-in-law Judy Plante. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church (205 Main St, Nevis, MN 56467).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: • Park Rapids Headwaters Animal Shelter, 901 Western Ave. S., Park Rapids.
