He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Aanerud and Grace Aanerud (Schoonover); his daughter Dawn Marie; and his siblings, Richard Aanerud (Gloria) and Marilynn Larson (Gene).
He is survived by: his wife Elvina Wagner; his children, Debb Fertal (Chris), Diana Barta (Gary) and David; his grandchildren, Justin Guttormson, Brittian Putoff (Guy), Nik Guttormson (Ashley), Elyse Evans (Gareth), Stevvi Aanerud and Suri Aanerud; his great grandchildren, Callysta, Katrina, David, Dominic, Braden, Addie, Judah, Zane, Clay, Oaken and Arcadya; his great great grandchild Alexander; his sister-in-law Nadine Brown (David); and his in-laws, Howard, Esther Wagner (Thompson), Vernell Wagner (Linda) and Carolyn Wagner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the United Lutheran Church (215 10th Ave SE, Elbow Lake, MN 56531). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vivie Hospice of Fergus Falls or Wounded Warriors.
