He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Root and Verna Root (Fletcher-Blocker); and his brother Reuben Root. He is survived by : his wife Eleanor VanVickle; his daughters, Janelle Karst (Richard) and JoEllen Johnson (Derek); his brother Richard Root; his grandchildren, Vanessa Rudolph (Mark), Teresa Karst, Christina Karst, Michael Karst (Melissa), Amber Racelo (Sean), Ashley Vogt (Kevin), Noelle Johnson, Miranda Johnson and Alexis Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Colton, Myles, Emma, Liam, Kade, Kohen, Ivey, Eden and Lorelai.
