He was predeceased by: his mother Jeanne Elizabeth McLellan (Betty). He is survived by: his father Richard Allen McLellan (Doc); his wife Lorie; his children, Joseph McLellan (Anne) and Kerri McLellan; his grandchildren, Wyatt, Lincoln and Eva; his siblings, Robert McLellan (Pam) and Lori Paris (John); and his pet Luna.

Memorials given in Jim's honor are preferred to Minnesota DNR – memo: Uppgaard Wild Life Management Area.
