He was predeceased by: his father Wayne Russell Hess; his wife Megan Marie Bucher Hess; his son Carl Brooks Hess; his mother Emma Hess (Sheller); his parents-in-law, Lyle and Marda Bucher; and his sister Bonnie Bucher.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela Hess Buysman (Nathan) of Sibley, Iowa; his grandsons, Chane Amdahl of Sioux Falls and Chandler Hess Kor (Leanne Slavin) of Burtrum, Minnesota; his stepgrandchildren, Nick Buysman (Sara) of North Liberty and Lydia Buysman of Sibley, Iowa; his great grandchildren, Bostyn Morris, Zayden Kor, Atlas Buysman, Elsie Amdahl, Nyah Kor and Lainey Buysman; his siblings, Myrna Huisken (George), Marlys Buddenhagen (Lyle), Joyce Ripley and Duane Hess (Janelle); his brother-in-law Jack Bucher; his sibling Kerry Bucher (Pam); and his friends, Tim and Susie Otto. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many treasured friends, including special neighbors.
