We bid farewell to James Vincent Melvin of Plainview, Minnesota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 24, 2025 at the age of 89. James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Melvin and Patricia Melvin (Lynch); his wife Kathryn Melvin (Kathy); and his siblings, Arthur Melvin and Patricia Melvin.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark (Steev Mallon) of St. Paul, MN, Michael (Kathy) of Park Rapids, MN, Kevin (Sara Smith) of Eagan, MN and Jason of Plainview, MN; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Nick) and Lucy of Eagan, MN; his son Thomas (Tom) of Fargo, ND.; and his siblings, Joseph Melvin (Liz) and Rita Nelson of Rochester. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church (900 W Broadway, Plainview, MN 55964). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
