Hazel Knies Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hazel Knies of Preston, Minnesota, who passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Ranzenberger and Caroline Ranzenberger (Jahn); her husband Chuck Knies; her daughter Juanita Pineas (Heinz); and her stepson Michael Knies.

She is survived by: her children, Lynn Benson (Arnold) of Preston, MN, Diana Poppe (Charles) of Rushford, MN and Kevin Ostern of Preston, MN; her stepchildren, Sandra Bonk of Hilo, HI, Jeffrey Knies (Roxie) of Preston, MN and Deborah Levendoski (Jon) of West Salem, WI; and her brother Burdell Ranzenberger of West Fargo, ND. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, and 3 step great-great grandchildren.
