Ron May wrote a sympathy message

“Doug & jim were my best childhood friends. Living only a bit over a mile apart, our bicycles kept busy going back & forth. We did our best to harass whatever we could with our one pump daisy bb guns. Doug's biggest feat, in my memory, was when he dropped a rooster pheasant, on the fly , with that bb gun! We kept the neighbor farmer on his toes too, by hanging out on the roof of his barn. It was all great fun, and made for great memories. He will be greatly missed!”

“Sorry to hear that Doug has passed away. My prayers are with you Diane and Family as you celebrate his life. He will be missed big time by his Wheelchair Sports friends and Partners in the outdoors. So many memories with the Rolling Twins Softball and Rolling Gophers Basketball teams. His memory will endure in the hearts of many that he traveled, played sports, and hunted/fished with. It was always a pleasure spending time with him and having fun with him. May you Rest in Peace Doug!!!”
