He was predeceased by: his brother Richard Almen. He is survived by: his wife Bev Bryant; his children, Dennis Almen (Kris) and Barb Almen (Mike Lueck); his grandchildren, Alex Pieles, Elizabeth Keane-Cook, Danielle Pieles, Rebecca Keane-Russell, Sydney Pieles, Ryan Keane and Dani Lueck; his sister-in-law Margaret Almen; and his nephews, Bob Bryant (Peggy), Rick Johnson (Nancy) and David Johnson (Sharon). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mille Lacs County Historical Society, 101 10th Avenue S, Princeton, MN, 55371.
