He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruno Hanel and Margaret Hanel (Statham) of Mankato, MN.; and his siblings, Loren, Harold and Barbara Hanel.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Rabenhorst; his children, Denise Schober (David), Deb Horn (Pastor Alan), Darla Werth (Pastor Bill) and Jeff Hanel (Becky); his grandchildren, Nicole Reece, Stacia Evenson (Derrick), Naomi Strusz (Mike), Daniel Schober (Tiffany), Jacob Horn, Hannah Horn, Jon Werth (Mandy), Samantha Hanel, Abby Kurth (Jordan), Sara Galvez (Felix), Lizzy Herdzina (Billy), Alex Hanel (Franny), Isaac Horn and Joe Hanel (Hayley); his brother Dick Hanel (Joy); and his sisters-in-law, Marie Hanel and Mary Lou Hanel. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
