Joanne Isabel Torkelson Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joanne Isabel Torkelson of Prior Lake, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 20, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Myron Torkelson; her grandson Jeffrey Torkelson; her niece Amy Aadland; her nephew David Huber; her parents, Jack Sylvester and Bertha Sylvester; and her siblings, Bob, Helen Sylvester, Bill, Lucy Sylvester and Judith Kieffer.

She is survived by: her children, Suzanne Busacker (John) of Eureka, MO, Mark Torkelson of Park River, ND, Thomas Torkelson (Julie) of Prior Lake and Elizabeth Sandell (Scott) of Scottsdale, AZ; and her siblings, Pat Synan of New Brighton, Penny Aadland of Prior Lake and Jack Sylvester of Mankato. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and can be sent to the funeral home at 4565 Pleasant Street SE in Prior Lake.
