With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy J. Hopman of Red Wing, Minnesota, who passed away on June 22, 2023 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Goelz and Linda Goelz (Schlueter); her husband James Dale Hopman; and her daughter Linda Marie Hopman. She is survived by: her family, Christine Beckmann (John), Beth Madsen (Keith), David Hopman, Linmarie Hopman, Sara Ramthun (Brad) and Heidi Winstead (Roy); her grandchildren, Seth Beckmann (Joelle), Derrick Madsen (Carrie), Kari Plafcan (Cory), Erin Powers (Chad), Ryan Cataract (Amanda), Hallie Skerston (Curtis), Codi Cataract (Cassie), Brady Ramthun (Kate), Nate Ramthun, Taylor Ramthun, Ashley Arnold, Drayton Arnold, Lauren Arnold and Kaden Arnold; her great grandchildren, Kaylea, Zoe, Teagan Gislason, Skyleia, Jozilyn Beckmann, Piper, Keira Osborne, Nora Plafcan, Jacob, Tate Powers, Bryanna, Kadence Cataract, Brantley Cataract, Brayden, Gabe Skerston, Karcyn and Kameron Brock; her sister Alice Danell; her son-in-law John Beckmann; and her sisters, Ethel Zess, Nancy Layman, Paula Harju (Robert Goelz) and Laura Johnson (Margaret Price). She is also survived by her family, friends and former co-workers.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. John's School Playground Fund or Mayo Hospice.
