He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin "E. P." Diercks and Mabel Diercks (Johnson); his brothers, Dwain, Reynold and Burt Diercks; his granddaughter Danielle Bauer; his in-laws, Burt and Barb Steffenhagen; his sisters-in-law, Glenda and Julie Diercks; his son-in-law Andy Smerud; and his nephew Brent Diercks.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey Steffenhagen of John's Lutheran Church; his children, Belinda Diercks of Milwaukee, WI, Terry Diercks of Rochester, Gwen Bauer (Dan) of Welch, Lynette Smerud of Red Wing, Kristin Diercks (John) of Ocean Springs, MS, Sandra Rios (Christopher) of Tacoma, WA and Suzanne Diercks of Red Wing; his brothers, Don Diercks of Byron, Roger Diercks (Pat) of Red Wing and Tom Diercks (Carole) of Bay City, WI; and his sisters-in-law, Eleanor and Dorie Diercks of Red Wing. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church - Red Wing (421 East Ave, Red Wing, MN 55066). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Wing.
