He was predeceased by: his daughter Mary Olson; his son-in-law Patrick Caneff; his sisters, Helen Margaret Zignego and Rosemary Diercks; and his niece Heidi Krause.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Stoffel; his children, Kimberly Samuelson (Bart) of Hastings, Tamra Caneff of Red Wing, Jane Roper (Jim) of Red Wing, Joseph Zignego (Sally Losbanos) of Goodhue and Molly St (Dave); his son-in-law Steve Olson of Red Wing; his grandchildren, Zachary Samuelson (Carlene), Paige Nelson (Drew), Tyler Samuelson (Marley), Liz Kindseth (Jason), Oliver Olson (Destinee), Chet Caneff (Katie), Becca Lexvold (Josh), Megan Beer (Dave), Louis Espere (Ryan), Owen, Calvin and Emelia St. Denis; and his sisters, Betty Anderson (Clair) of Red Wing and Carol Miller (Leonard) of Red Wing. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Red Wing Environmental Learning Center or Calvary Cemetery.
