He was predeceased by : his parents, Ray Wolter and Ethel Wolter (Dowling); and his sisters, Juanita Hartl and Donna Nelson. He is survived by : his wife Sue; his children, Sarah Wolter (Blake Kane) of Northfield, Heidi Wolter of Red Wing and Michael Nelson-Wolter (Mark) of London, England; his grandsons, Sullivan and Spencer Kane; and his close friends, Gene, Andi Schultz, Jim, Sandy Tulek, Bill LeVasseur, Marilyn Nelson, Bonnie Mettling, Mike and Cavie Fischer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar United Lutheran Church (628 W 5th St, Red Wing, MN 55066). A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Red Men Club (306 W 4th St, Red Wing, MN 55066).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be given in Ron's name to United Lutheran Church.
