He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Sand and Georgia Sand (Hennings); his former wife Marlene Sand; his sister Jeanette Knuteson (Sand); and his granddaughter Melissa Boehne.
He is survived by: his wife Roseann Doroff; and his children, Deborah Toohey (Tom) of Coon Rapids, Jill Berglove (Joe) of Ham Lake, Beth Barten (Tim) of Waconia, Faye Richardson of Rogers, Thomas Sand of Elk River, Vickie Thompson (Jon) of Pelican Rapids, Alan Boehne (Mona) of Detroit Lakes and Linda Eichmiller (Fred) of Mosinee, Wisconsin.. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
