With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Erland Shelley of Remer, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 23, 2025 at the age of 85. In the vast expanse of eternity, Erland shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Erland farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Oren Shelley and Evelyn Shelley (Schloer); his wife Sally Jo Stewart; and his sister Linda. He is survived by: his sons, Erick Shelley (Marni) of Rochester, MN and Mark Shelley (Glee) of Boise, ID; his grandchildren, Thorin, Garrett and Kayla; his friends, Jan Schmitz of Albertville, MN and Edward Lillie of Wabasha, MN; and his sisters, Martha and Kristi Shelley of Maricopa, AZ. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in blue; and numerous other family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Rochester VFW Post 1215 (2775 43rd St NW, Rochester, MN 55901).
