He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Swanson and Pearl Swanson; his siblings, Clinton Swanson and Carol; his brother-in-law Earl Heyerdahl; his brother Ross; his sister-in-law Pat Swanson; his sisters, Marilyn Nordstrom and Therine; and his siblings-in-law, Don Haines and Eleanor "Toodie" Swanson.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Glorie Balfanz (Brent) and Jeff Swanson (Liz); his grandchildren, Brandon Balfanz (Cassandra), Allison Bauman (Ryan), Bryce Balfanz (Amanda), Cole Swanson and Shayna Swanson; his great grandchildren, Lincoln, Kailey and Lola; his brother Charles Swanson; and his brother-in-law Bud Nordstrom. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
