He was predeceased by : his parents, Evelyn Zimmer (Brehm) and Reynold Zimmer; his daughter Suzanne Kozial; his brother Gary; and his siblings-in-law, Denis Kannel, Don Javoroski, Robert Petty and Donna Kannel.

He is survived by : his wife Marlene Kannel; his children, Jerry of Hager City, WI and Christine Piché (Bill) of Maple Grove, MN; his sister Lois Adank (Don); his sisters-in-law, Karen Swanson (Wesley), Velma Javoroski and Rita Petty; and his son-in-law Kim Kozial. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
