He is survived by: his wife Tina Hieken; his children, Haley and Owen; his sister Lauren; and his parents, Phyllis and Chester.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home, Rochester.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Nature Conservancy, the Minnesota Nongame Wildlife Program (https://www.dnr.state.mn.us), a program through the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, or the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, which focuses on pollinator conservation.
