She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernhard "Ben" Sande and Karina Sande (Bremmer); her siblings, Dolores Sande, Bernice Hanson and Wesley Sande; and her son-in-law Paul Mainz.
She is survived by: her husband Gerhard; her children, Joleen Hegland Mainz of Rochester, MN and James Hegland (Tanja) of Rochester, MN; her grandchildren, Erik Mainz (Rachel Kane), Elliot Mainz, Elizabeth Mainz (Andrew LaFave), Anna Maxon (Colin), Peter Hegland (Molly O'Toole), Laura Heier (Diego), Sarah Hegland, Andrew Hegland, Joseph Hegland and Patrick LaFave; her great grandchildren, Leo Maxon, Kara Maxon, Keegan Maxon, Isla Maxon, Logan Heier, Colette Heier and Damian Heier; and her sisters, Olive Ann Boyum (Karrol) and Winifred Johnson (Carroll). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford or Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Charles.
