He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Rustad and Dora Rustad; his wife Becky Rustad; and his siblings, Wayne Rustad and Gloria Ruen.
He is survived by: his sons, Chris Rustad, Jim Rustad of Waconia, MN and Dan Rustad (Anna Lisa) of Northfield, MN; his grandchildren, Haakon of Decorah, IA, Ingrid and Theo Rustad of Northfield; and his brother Rick Rustad. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He served in many roles during his career, with his longest tenures as General Manager of the Mayo Foundation House and in the Department of Development, working on both the Rochester and Arizona campuses.
