It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel Parney (Rochester, Minnesota), born in Edmonton, Alberta, who passed away on November 9, 2018, at the age of 16, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Fred Parney and Barbara Yan. He is survived by: his parents, Elizabeth Yan and Ian Parney; his brothers, James Parney of Rochester and Maxwell Parney of Rochester; his grandparents, Paul Yan, Jean Yan, Jane Lowry and Brian Lowry; his aunt Lynn Prysunka; his uncle Steve Prysunka; his cousins, Annie, Mollie and Sam Prysunka; his uncle Bob Parney; and his cousins, Jane Parney and Wyn Parney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Brains Together for a Cure (http://www.brainstogetherforacure.org) or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (afsp.org).

“it’s hard to believe it’s been a year. Daniel was a steadfast friend in the short time i knew him, and in two years, he gave me enough memories to fill a novel. Today, i’ll share one. Daniel and i were in ap lit at mayo, and we were asked to perform robert frost’s “home burial”. Parney decided to read his lines in a ridiculous scottish accent, and, much to our teacher’s chagrin, frost’s morose tale became a comedy. Remember to smile, even in times of grief. Rest well, good buddy.”
