He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin "Bud" Nelson and Ruth Nelson (O'Connell); his siblings, John Nelson and Janet Quandt (Ray); his cousins, Paul and Jim Nelson; and his nephew Terry Quandt.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Nelson; his children, Scott "Pee Wee" Nelson, Kurt Nelson (Sue), Todd Nelson (Cheryl), Sharyl Sanderfoot (Bob), Cari Hagen (Ron) and Jeff Nelson (Kellie); his brother Cyril "Cy" Nelson (Maxine); his grandchildren, Katie Jackson (Jake), Peter Sanderfoot (Alisha), Joe Hagen (Elaine), Kaytlin Nelson, Mary Saro (Tyler), Erik Nelson (Emily), Kyle Nelson, Liz Hagen (Ryan), Alex Nelson and Anna Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Max Baines, Hannah Jackson, Ryder Anderson, Lucas Wells, Leah Jackson, Amelia Nelson, Noah Wells, Nora Saro, Benson Nelson, Levi Jackson, Odin Sanderfoot, Ruby Hagen and Apollo Sanderfoot. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dave's memory to the Rochester Korean War Veterans Club, an organization that he was proud to be a part of.
