He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Kliewer and Melrose Kliewer; his daughter Kalli Kliewer; and his brother Jim Kliewer. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Kliewer of Rochester; his daughter Kara Kliewer (Mike); his stepchildren, Kevin Joki, Jackie Louviere (Brent) and Kellie Joki; and his grandchildren, Jordan, Danika, Dawson and Aili. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
