She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Barnes and Ella Barnes (Naab); her husband Earl Edward Smith; her son Terry Smith; her grandson Cory; her son-in-law Stephen Bauer; and her siblings, Richard (Donna), Ronald (Ila), Allen and Elizabeth Mostrom (Spencer).

She is survived by: her children, Kristi Bauer, Lynn Schaefer (Tom) and Kevin Smith (Carol); her siblings, Kenneth Barnes (Yvonne) and Dorothy Esse (John); and her sisters-in-law, Kathryn Hovden, Karen Dehning, Darlene Frana, Joyce Smith and Luann Smith. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
