She was predeceased by: her mother Gwendolyn Hair Arnau Dodd; her grandmothers, Nettie Hair Shook and Ruth Clower Arnau; her stepfather Jesse N. Dodd; her aunt Beverly Arnau Langford; and her uncle Paul Langford.
She is survived by: her father Francis M. Arnau, III (Mary); her husband Allan Merz; her daughters, Laura Adair D'Emilio (David) and Virginia Adair Hunter (Will); her siblings, Francis M. "Sonny" Arnau, IV (Suzanne) and Alison Arnau English (Joe); her uncle Charles Arnau (Elaine); and her siblings' children, Francis M. "Quinn" Arnau, Katelyn Miller (Max), Anna McCauley (Luke), Mason Venable (Kayla) and Cadon Russo.
