He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Ganun and Evelyn Ganun; his wife Mariam; his sister Betty Koppelman; his son Vail Ganun; and his grandson Brandon Ganun.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gwendolyn Haddad (Tony) of Spring Valley, Gail Prechel (Jim) of Owatonna and Gay Scharpen (Leslie) of Rochester, Minnesota; and his pet Marley. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Because of his love for dogs, the family requests memorials to Camp Companion (P.O. Box 7478, Rochester, MN 55903) which is foster care for adoptable pets.
