He was predeceased by: his father Charles Hanson. He is survived by: his mother Karen Hanson (Purinton); his children, Theodore, Madelyn and Katelyn; his wife Shawna Hanson; and his siblings, Jamie Hanson, Lee Hanson and Amarah Makhdumi (Tanveer).

Memorials may be made to Rochester Central Lutheran School.
