She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. John Bruen and Kathleen Bruen (Halferty) of Chicago, Illinois.; and her siblings, Doreen Vestal, George, John Dermot and James Bruen.

She is survived by: her husband Tom O'Brien; her daughter Meghan; her son-in-law Joe Karau; and her grandchildren, Tommy of Rochester and Erin Karau of Rochester.
