He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Ziemer and Hilda Ziemer (Peterson); his wife Katherine Luehmann of John's Lutheran Church; his sister Arlene; his brother-in-law Donald Strelow; his brother Marlin; and his sister-in-law Gladys Ziemer.

He is survived by: his sons, Matthew Ziemer (Renee) of Dover, MN, Eric Ziemer (LuAnn) of Pine Island, MN and Owen Ziemer (Kimberley) of Eyota, MN; his grandchildren, James (Jennifer), Joel, Kelly Stahl (Tyler), Adam (Ashley), Alec, Valorie Kimery (Bowdrie) and Luke; and his great grandchildren, Owen Lecy, Zander Ziemer and Henry Stahl.
