He is survived by: his wife Violet Várkonyi; his children, Monika Elling (Arthur L. Regan) of New York City and Dr. Lawrence Szarka (Monica Marrocco-Szarka) of Rochester, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Bettina Elling, Nicholas Elling, Stefanie Elling, Veronica Szarka, Alexander Szarka and Anthony Szarka; and his siblings, István Szarka (Eszter Szarka) of Budapest and Ildikó Orbán-Szarka (Árpád Orbán) of De Bilt. He is also survived by ten nieces and nephews, and their children, and many cousins.
