He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth "Betty" Adkins (Whalen) and Wallace "Wally" Adkins; his sister Susan Niess; his nephew Ryan Niess; and his parents-in-law, Jim and Mickey Garvey.
He is survived by: his wife Maureen "Reenie" Garvey; his children, Anthony Adkins (Jennifer) of Dallas, Kelly Vicenzi (Alec) of St. Paul and Shannon Adkins of Hopkins, MN; his grandchildren, Lola, Joaquín Gonzalez-Adkins, Charles and Harrison Vicenzi; his siblings, Patrick Adkins (Joy), Kathy Merry (Rod), Caroline Bjellos (Tom) and Nancy Boeckers (Chris); and his siblings-in-law, Mike Garvey (Kathy), Tim Garvey and Patrice Emond (Tom). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
