He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph L. Gustine and Dorothy "Dottie" M. Gustine (Coan); his sister Nancy; his son Jason; his nephew Joel Magnuson; his great-nephew Dylan Martinez; and his sister-in-law Paula Rude.

He is survived by: his wife Maureen Ver Douw; his children, Matthew, Zachary, Samuel (Samantha), Jacob (Melissa) and Megan; his grandchildren, Jacinda, Jasmine, Jaxsen, Amelie, Briannah, Jones, Evelyn, Addison and Mason; his nephews, Bill, Christopher and Jesse Magnuson; his sisters-in-law, Beverly Dittel, Debra De Wilde (James), Karen Wise (Kendrick) and Richelle Weisgurt (David); and his pets, Cujo and E. T.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
