She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. T. P. Bhat and Suprabha Bhat (Vathsala); and her brother U. Rajendra Bhat. She is survived by: her daughters, Nikhila Pai (Jeff Cooksey) and Jaimala Pai (Shane Bohnen); and her siblings, Jayakar Bhat (Jyothika) and Lathika Shenoy (G. Hariram).
