He was predeceased by: his daughter Norine Thoreson; and his siblings, Orlie Thoreson and LaVonne Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Maxine Paulson; his daughters, Renee Thoreson and Christie Meier (Phil); his grandchildren, Seth Meier (Holly), Anna Svennungsen (Kyle) and Anders Meier (Molly); his great grandchildren, Clara Meier, Isla Meier, Odin Svennungsen, Espen Svennungsen, Magnus Svennungsen, Penny Meier, Trygve Meier and Leif Meier; and his brother Leon Thoreson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Orland donated his body to Alzheimer's Research at Mayo Clinic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your choice of charities.
